Reiki Usui - 1st Level of REIKI

The first level of Reiki Usui is considered the physical level, it is also the “Self” level. During the seminar of Usui Reiki in most common method, the student receives 4 reiju activation energy by the Reiki master or better the Reiki teacher, which allow him to become a Reiki channel. You learn all the techniques to practise the REIKI self-treatment and how to complete a treatment on other people. You also learn how to deal depending on individual needs, to carry out treatments for children or the aged, to treat the animals, the plants, the flowers , that are living beings too.

The self-treatment REIKI is of great importance for our spiritual growth through Reiki.

In fact, after the seminar, we recommend you to spend at least 20 minutes a day or half an hour, to treat yourself. This is such a precious with yourself.

During the course, we explain the history of Reiki, the operator's hands position on the body and recipient, explains the chakras and how they work. We have a group meditations, the exchange experiences, the circles of light.

At the end of 1 st Level of Reiki course, you are able to treat yourself first of all, and then on the other, family members, relatives, friends and acquaintances

Reiki Usui - 3rd Level of REIKI

The 3rd level Reiki Usui is a Reiki Master preparation.

The 3rd level includes the latest activation but precludes the instructions to activate other people in the course of Reiki Master.
This path is relative to Reiki Usui known and widespread in the West, even the most practiced. And it is possible to attend a third level which excludes the possibility of teaching. It is definitely not an intermediate level and, to who wishes to become a Reiki master, you just have to attended the second level Reiki, obviously after some Reiki practicing , although it is recommended to prepare through the third level. Normally, the cost of the third level is then separated at the time of the Reiki Master therefore does not include any additional charge. The course is open to those who are not interested in concluding an important path started earlier, and who do not wish to activate or hold courses in Reiki, but after their own personal journey wish to end the cycle of Reiki attunements or Reiju also receiving the most important symbol left by Mikao Usui, the Dai-Komyo.

The Reiki Master in fact has no personal merit, but is only an energy channeler of the Universal Energy that flows between the universe REIKI and his/her body, like a river. In fact, a first level can be compared to a stream, a second level of a river, a third level to a great river, such as the Ganges in India or the Nile in Egypt. Reiki Usui Shiki Ryoho or Usui Shiki Ryoho was conceived by Mikao Usui in the early part of the 900.

Mikao Usui was neither a doctor nor a monaco Christian, but a Japanese man 's business, loyal to his emperor and also a deeply spiritual person. Many sources claim that he taught in the  Christian Doshisha University in Kyoto, but, after deep researches recently conducted in Japan, it was found from reliable sources that Mikao Usui was neither a teacher nor a student of the university. The apparently Christians elements  in the life and education of Mikao Usui sensei were added later by his Western Reiki Master Reiki to make it more acceptable in the West.

During the Meiji lots of hands-on healing techniques had been taught in Japan and as result, they had created associations and groups of healing. Most of these groups have disappeared after the second world war. One of the most important groups was the Taireidou, of which he was President and Master , Morihei Tanaka, who said he was  Usui Sensei's teacher.
The fact that Mikao Usui had learnt Reiki by Mr. Tanaka has still no confirm.

The 5 Reiki Principles  which were originally written by Emperor Meiji of Japan (1868-1912), were adopted by Mikao Usui Sensei to give his students an ethical base. We know there was  a relationship between the Kurama Temple Dera (Kurama), north of Kyoto,  and the Reiki existence.

On the inscription of the Mikao Usui Sensei's memorial in Tokyo, is written that Usui Sensei was initiated to Reiki while performing a meditation retreat on Mount Kurama. It was said that Mikao Usui has a Satori, a provisional realization of the Divine or Lighting.

Before his death in 1926 Mikao Usui Sensei chose his successor. This successor was not friend of Dr. C. Hayashi as they taught in the West, but a friend of Usui Sensei, Mr. Ushida, who later wrote Usui's memorial.  In fact, Mr. Hayashi, Mrs. Takata and all the others who followed,  are not known by most of the members of Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai in Japan.

Dr. Hayashi was one of a group of practitioners of Reiki teachers, but it was the only de facto successor of Usui Sensei. The first president of the Usui Reiki, Ryoho Gakkai, the organization that Usui Sensei founded, it was Usui Sensei himself. The second successor was Mr.. Ushida. The third was Mr. Taketomi. The fourth was Mr. Watanabe. The fifth was Mr. Wanami, followed by the sixth, Mrs. Koyama. The seventh and current, the successor of Usui Sensei is cig. Kondo. Declaring that Dr. Hayashi was not the successor of Usui Sensei is not exact, however, he continued the line of Reiki Mikao Usui Sensei learned from  the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai.

The system of Reiki is taught by the "Master" or Usui Reiki teachers, called Western Reiki is effective, relaxing and suitable for ALL and is the method most practiced Reiki in the world.

Dr. Hayashi was certainly a worthy successor of Usui. He always spoke of his teacher with the highest respect and honor and he founded his own association after Usui's death.
In Japan, Reiki has evolved over the years and currently there are now many different streams scattered everywhere in the country of the rising sun. Some teachers say that Reiki is part of the Buddhist tradition, mainly of the Pure Land Buddhism as Mikao Usui Sensei professed this Buddhist school.  The other current claims that Reiki is of Shinto, as the official religion of Japan was Shinto. In fact the original teachings of Reiki seem to be a mix between Buddhism and Shintoism. Japan is a country of synthesis: Buddhism and Shintoism are similar and often interdependent that it is impossible to divide the current state. During the past fifty years the Western form of Reiki has evolved a lot.

This process is certainly useful. The part of therapeutic and human as well as the spiritual growth and is constantly evolving and a methodology that has been good hundred years ago maybe it's outdated today.

Something what can not evolve and develop will die and disappear in due course. Unfortunately some functions and Japanese Reiki techniques have not been taught in the West, for example, the work that the students of Usui Sensei made with crystals. Mikao Usui Sensei possessed crystal balls programmed on the diseased body parts of his patients. Breathing exercises, examination and other methods have also been ignored from purely oriental Reiki when it came overseas. The Reiki symbols coming from Buddhism Mikkyo (a Japanese form of Tibetan Buddhism) and the ancient Shinto survived unchanged in the journey across the ocean.

We could not find the additional symbols of Reiki in Japan. It is clear now that there is Reiki "original" that teaches to be found anywhere except in the manual that was given to his students by Dr. Usui himself. There is a copy of the manual and currently there is a translation of the teachings inherited from Usui.
Master Hyakuten Inamoto Sensei keeps a full copy of the Mikao Usui's manual and his writings as well as all the poems of him.

Currently, there are 2 schools in Japan for the  original Japanese Reiki, and are the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, that currently is considered to be a closed group, and Komyo Reiki Kai occupies which disclosures all over the world the original Mikao Usui Sensei's Reiki teachings.

The Reiki energy is vital and it is always present, always real, pure, bright and clean.

Impurities is not part of Reiki. Reiki is and always will be part of the collective heritage of the human race that can not be owned by a specie or a group. It remains what it is: a wonderful gift that has been given to us by existence, from life, from creation, from universe or God, whatever we want to call Him.

History of Mikao Usui

Mikao Usui was born in Japan in Taniai-Mura near Tokyo August 15, 1865.

Buddhist sect of the "Pure Land", disheartened for a moment he was going through a very difficult period, decided to go for a period of meditation on Mount Kurama, a sacred and home to several Buddhist schools. It was during one of these meditations that created the awareness of the Universal Energy and the power of Reiki.

Usui Reiki Ryoho experienced the effectiveness of the method imposition of hands, first on his family, then shared this knowledge with others.

Usui founded in 1922 in Aoyama (Tokyo District) "the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai", a school for the practice and teaching of Reiki discipline, gaining much popularity for the effectiveness of its system. In a short time he opened other schools in Japan, until, March 9, 1926 Mikao Usui left the body.

After the death of the Usui Gakkai, the school founded by Master, changed sostenzialmente policy, focusing on the maintenance of the system and neglecting the purpose of distribution. It closed on its participants and almost after the general destruction suffered by Japan in World War II, to disappear completely.

Today the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai has a national headquarters and a few dozen members all in old age.

The spread of the discipline in the world was thanks to a student of Usui, Hayashi Chyujiro the naval officer.

The Mestro Hayashi partly modified the discipline, he opened his school Reiki, and formed a number of teachers of which only two were women: his wife and Suzuki Hawayo Takata, the latter spread Reiki to the United States with variations that could be more suited to Americans and Westerners. Mrs Takata goes the merit of having spread Reiki in the West.

The traditional discipline, however, was not forgotten. Several Masters fact, students Hayashi, Japan continued in the work of spreading, although the Western style of Takata (now also widespread in Japan) had definitely increased visibility and expansion.

Among the students there was Mrs. Hayashi Chijoko Yamaguchi. She learned from the Master the first and the second level at the age of only 19 years. Not being able to get the mastery because of young age, Ms. Yamaguchi received, however, the level teacher by his uncle (who was also formed with Mestro Hayashi) who needed an assistant.


Student of the now elderly lady Yamaguchi was the Rev. Inamoto Hyakuten that began richercare verifiable sources to be able to go back to the traditional and original of Master Mikao Usui, hitherto not yet available to everyone.

Mikao Usui responded for real to the following questions, but the date and the name of the interviewer are not known. According to the date mentioned in the text, the interview should had occurred  between 1922 and 1926, the year Mikao Usui left the body.

Question: What is the 'Usui Reiki Ryoho?

Answer: We have received with gratitude the principles prescribed by the Emperor Meiji and live abiding by them. In order to follow the spiritual path, humanity has to live according to these principles. This means that we have learn to improve our body, our feelings and our thoughts with constant practice. In this way first of all, as we heal the spirit, consequently we will restore the body. When our mind is on the healthy path of honesty and seriousness, the body finds itself the full health. Since the body and mind are one thing, we can all live in peace and joy. We heal ourselves diseases others too, intensifying and increasing our happiness and that one  of others. This is the aim of Usui Reiki Ryoho

Question: The Usui Reiki Ryoho is based on a form of psychotherapy, self-suggestion, hypnosis or other therapies notes? Is  It a therapy already known but under another name?

Answer: It is not similar to the forms of therapy that he described. After many years of hard training, I met a spiritual secret that is used to rid the body and mind.

Question: Reiki is a psycho-spiritual healing method?

Answer: It is pretty accurate, we can call it that way, but we can also call it physical therapy, since the energy and the light radiating from all parts of the body of the person allow the treatment. The energy and the light are radiating from the eyes, mouth, and from the hands of those who give the treatment, and he/she may, at the same time, fix his/her eyes on the afflicted parts, blow and gently massage. Toothache, headache, stomach pain, swelling in the chest, neuralgia, bruises, cuts, burns, etc.. heal easily, while chronic diseases are not so easy to treat but also a single treatment of a chronic illness shows a positive effect. I wonder how this phenomenon can be explained by medical science. The reality is increasingly affecting the theory, when you see the results, you will agree with me. Even those who do not want to believe can not deny the  reality.

Question: Have we to believe in 'Usui Reiki Ryoho healing to occur?

Answer: No, because the Reiki Ryoho is different from other methods of psychic healing. Consent and faith are not needed, because the Reiki does not work through suggestion. It makes no difference whether a person is incredulous, skeptical or biased. For example it also works with children and people who are seriously injured and unconscious. Out of ten people, perhaps one will trust to the first treatment. Already after the first treatment the majority of people feel the effects and benefits and they will increase their confidence.

Question: What diseases can be cured with the Usui Reiki Ryoho

Answer: Any disease origining from mental or physical disease.

Question: Does Usui Reiki Ryoho heal  only illness?

Answer: No, not only diseases of the body, but also bad habits and psychological ailments such as despair, weakness of character, lack of courage, the difficulty in making decisions and nervousness. With Reiki energy, our spirit finds its divine part or his Buddhahood, and we can develop the ability to treat other human beings, our brothers. In this way we make happy, healthy and serene both ourselves and others.

Question: How does  Usui Reiki Ryoho heal?

Answer: No one has started this method. I did not make efforts to obtain extraordinary powers of healing. While I fasted, I came in contact with an intense energy and, in some mysterious way, I was inspired. For a set of coincidences it became clear that I had been given the spiritual art of healing. Although, even if I m the founder of this method, is difficult for me to explain it in more details. Doctors and researchers are moving  passionate researches in this field, but so far it has been difficult to reach a conclusion that is based on medical science. There will come a time when the Reiki meet science.

Question: Does The Usui Reiki Ryoho use medicines or special tools? If so, are there any side effects?

Answer: They do not use medicines or instruments. We use only the look, the breath, the caress, the light taps and the touch of the hands. That 's what heals diseases.

Question: In order to practice the Usui Reiki Ryoho is it necessary to have medical knowledge?

Answer: The Reiki Ryoho is a spiritual method that goes beyond medical science and therefore does not rely on it. When we look, we blow it, we touch or caress the diseased body part, we get the desired result. For example, touching the head when we want to treat the brain, abdomen when we want to treat the abdomen and eyes to eyes. You do not get bitter medicine, or using the moxa or moxibustion but it heals quickly and easily. So this spiritual method is an original creation.

Question: How do physicians consider Reiki?

Answer: The scientific authorities are very honest in judging the Usui Reiki Ryoho. Recently some famous European doctors took a critical stand against the administration (indiscriminate) medicine. Dr. Sen Nagai of Teikoku Medical University said: "We doctors know how to diagnose a disease, save it and understand it empirically, but we do not know where it comes from or how to treat it." Dr. Kondo said: "It 's arrogant to say that medicine has made tremendous progress when modern medicine neglects the spiritual balance (the patient). It' s a great disadvantage." Dr. Sakae Hara said: "It ' s insolence treating the human being, who has a spiritual wisdom, like an animal. Believe that in the future we will have a great revolution in the field of therapy." Some doctors and pharmacists understand this problem and start asking to be initiated into Reiki.

Question: What do you think about the government?

Answer: On February 6, the eleventh year of the Taisho period (1922), Congressman Teiji Matsushita did, at the meeting of the shareholders' meeting of the Federal Parliament, the following question: "What is the government's position on therapists currently practicing psychotherapy and spiritual therapy without a title? "
Mr. Ushio the government commissioner said: "Ten years ago, hypnosis and other similar forms of therapy were judged inadequate treatment but today, after long researches, are applied effectively in psychiatry. It 's hard to want to solve everything about being, with human medicine. To heal diseases physicians follow certain ways, which are based on the principles of medicine. The use of hands and electrotherapy to combat the disease are not part of the methods of medical school. " That's why the Usui Reiki Ryoho is not subject to laws regarding the right medical health or those involving acupuncture, shiatsu or moxa.

Question: In this therapy, are the skills of spiritual healing given only to those who are spiritually developed at birth? I do not think this can be learned. What do you think?

Answer: All living beings have received the gift of the spiritual ability to heal. The same thing can be applied to plants, animals, fish and insects, but humans, representing the culmination of creation, have received a greater power. Usui Reiki Ryoho appeared in the world to make this capability available and accessible to all.

Question: Anyone can be initiate to Usui Reiki Ryoho?

Answer: Of course you. Men and women, old and young, doctors and uneducated people who live according to the moral principles can learn in a short time.  I initiated more than a thousand people and not even one of these has failed to achieve the desired result. Everyone, even those who have just learned Shoden (the first level), are already able to heal diseases. If we think about it, it is rather strange to learn in such a short time to heal disease, although this is for the human being the hardest thing. I am myself amazed and this is the characteristic of our method of spiritual healing, we can learn something so difficult so much easier.

Question: With the Usui Reiki Ryoho you can heal others. And what about yourself? Can  someone  heal also his/her-own illnesses?

Answer: If we could not  heal our diseases, our body and our mind, how cannot we heal others'?

Question: What should I do to learn Okuden (the second level)?

Answer: The Okuden consists of a number of lessons to apply: I Hatsurei, tap, stroke, put pressure with your hands, healing on distance, heal customs etc.. Before you learn Shoden and then when you have achieved good results, the correct behavior, honesty and morality and you will be thrilled with the Reiki, then you will be ready to receive initiation into Okuden.

Question: In the Reiki Ryoho is there any other teaching after Okuden?

Answer: There is still the Shinpiden, the highest level, namely the fourth, ie the degree in which we can send Reiki and teach others.
